The client wanted to have cones and assembly guides of their own design printed, intended to help the netting feed smoothly on a log palletiser. The files supplied were directly usable, but some guidance was needed to fine-tune the print settings so as to ensure strength and durability. The requirements centred on mechanical strength, outdoor resistance and matching a specific colour.

Need – Launching a new product without a mould

The printed parts ensure the netting feeds evenly while the palletiser is running, in forestry or agricultural settings. 3D printing made it possible to launch this product in a small batch, without a mould and at a controlled cost. The whole thing had to withstand mechanical stress and outdoor exposure.

Our objective – Technical support and customisation

The main challenge was to determine the right print settings to achieve the expected mechanical performance. This work involved numerous technical exchanges (calls, emails, supporting documents) with the client's team. A bespoke fluorescent yellow filament was ordered for the guide parts, to respect the product's visual identity.

The 3D models required no modification. The parts were printed in black PETG for the cones and fluorescent yellow PETG for the guides. Several settings were adjusted: orientation, infill, wall thickness and so on. Test parts were sent to the client for validation before production.

Manufacturing – A batch in FDM to validated settings

FDM technology was chosen for its mechanical strength, controlled cost and the absence of any complex aesthetic requirement. The machine settings were defined from the tests validated with the client, ensuring a smooth and compliant production run.

Result – A successful launch and a stronger partnership

The client expressed great satisfaction, both with the technical quality and with the working relationship. They highlighted the support received in bringing their product to market, seeing Osmoz 3D as a genuine partner. The log palletiser was launched on time, and the client plans to call on Osmoz 3D for every future production run on this project.
